Divination as a Christian is wrong!
Dear Ephphatha; Girl
My childhood entailed of going outside playing in the park, I never understood those who were inside and read books, specifically at the time Harry potter books were all the rage back, it was later in my late teenager years I became a fan of Harry Potter, though I do have to admit the books are much better however I do think watching the movies first helped me visualise the character better in the book. To this day my favourite Harry potter series is Goblet of fire, both the movie and the book.
If you are not familiar with Harry Potter, based on an eleven year old orphan boy who finds he is a wizard and has magical powers, living with his maternal auntie and her husband and son. They treat Harry like a slave and never allow him to have any freedom. When he finds out he is a wizard he goes to a wizard school called Hogwarts where he meets fellow wizard and witches, with powers like himself. One of Hogwarts class is Divination class.
I found the divination class interesting, due to the professor, Professor Sybill Trelawney and Hermione. Hermione’s hatred for the class was also fascinating to me; she called it “woolly”. Woolly another word for vague, confusing. Hermione who relies on facts and logic could never understand the root of Divination class. However, I thought about it deeply, to why I found it funny, was it because I, like Hermione use logic or is it I am scared of the truth. Being Nigeria, our culture has always believed in people who can see the future, spell chanters, and those who mix with the so called dark arts, we call it Juju. In the Divination class, courses such as gathering insights into the future events were taught , through various rituals and tools, ability to prophecy the future (source: Harry Potter wiki.com). The word Divination is an ancient Greek word, nowadays divination can be seen as spirit possession, or dreams.

I on one hand have come to a realisation that divination is an evil practice and revelations are from Jesus Christ. The questions for Christians are how to differentiate divination and revelations. The solution for Christians is to gain and flourish in the discernment of the Holy Spirit. Discernment is the ability to judge well, as Christians I feel as though we lack in this area a lot, heck including me.
With the new world order where the practicing of yoga, meditation, necromancer, witchcraft, card reading, fortune telling are encourage, Christians should not follow these practice instead of the power of God is what matters. Personally in my walk with God, anything anyone tells me I speak to God about it, in the form of prayer, fasting and praising God. My Mom has had dreams about me where I was attacked by a bunch of black crows. I immediately did a one day fast just as my spirit told me to do, I prayed against any and every affliction and I am still here, not by my might but by the mighty power of God. In the Bible in Deuteronomy chapter 18 verse 9-12, it state “Let no one be found among you who sacrifices his son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft or casts spells or who consuls the dead. Anyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord”.
Now it makes sense why I took an interest in the divination class I think deep now I knew it was a weird class but in the movie the class, and the professor are crucial to Harry winning in the end, basically the practice of divination was the winner. However, in the real world divination is not the winner and I hope more Christians open their eyes to new world order and stop applying it in their day-to-day life please, the new world order is in support with the antichrist, hence we should be against it. Our dreams are important as they are revelations; always pray before going to bed speaking against any demon or evil people who spew evil towards you, asking God to give you the spirit of a warrior in dreams so you can stand strong against demons and witches.
I do hope my point was clear for you; please do let me know your opinions, and what your intake is on divination and revelations.
Best wishes

Are we born evil/sinful?
17/5/25
Are human born good or born evil? Have you bee asked this questions before? I have, and I always said we are born good but choose to do evil.
The people I have been around specifically atheist or people from different faith believe all human are born evil. I was never in an agreement and felt their answer was wrong. However, since reading my bible more and allowing the Holy Spirit to guide me, I realised due to Adam and Eve we are all born evil/ with sin, “ “ but the resurrection of Christ Jesus washes away our sins and make us a new creation. The fact that non-Christians and atheist were more knowledgeable that I was brought a sense of shame. Though their reference and reasoning were completely different to mine the fact their answer was correct and I was wrong is what brought the shame.
Now that I am aware we are all born evil/sinful, how do I explain to someone why God allowed sin to be passed from Adam and Eve to you and me especially as Jesus rose to bring us salvation.
My sister Jennifer said the following “what if you look at it from this perspective…we all have the ability to do evil” and that was it, that hit the nail on the head. We all have the ability to do evil, but immediately when you repent and accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and saviour the thought, the mindset of doing evil washes away.
That is why when pastors say the devil first attacks your mind, this is fact
